Description: Needs a solid sr acct (Jesse Walton-like) who has good system skills. She has someone who is leaving and needs a replace immediatly. Though this is not being touted as a ttp...this person will be considered for the perm opportunity. She prefers to do a face-to-face but will move quickly as the person leaving will train with until notice is worked.Performs highly technical accounting functions under general supervision. Acts as a leader in back office accounting system development and implementation. Works in conjunction with front and middle offices to ensure complete and accurate accounting treatment of transactions. Develops and maintains appropriate internal controls to ensure accuracy of accounting and compliance with SOX requirements. Works closely with accounting personnel on month end close, variance analysis and reporting. Provides functional expertise on appropriate reporting of accounting transactions out of integrated financial systems. Ensures that systems provide appropriate data for meeting consolidated reporting requirements. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

BR     - Month end closing duties and journal entriesBR     - GL account reconciliationsBR     - Complex unbilled revenue calculationsBR     - Financial result variance explanations related to certain income statement and balance sheet sectionsBR     - Monitor certain interfaces into the financial system

COMPETENCIES:

BR     - Strong accounting skills.BR     - Experience in financial systems and applicable SOX requirements.BR     - Ability to function in a high stress environment, and foresee and solve complex problems.BR     - Ability to team well with other inside and outside of the accounting department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BR     - Bachelors degree (BA) from a four-year college or university in Accounting with three to five years related experience.BR     - Advanced degrees such as an MBA, or professional certification (CPA) are highly desirable.BR     - Utility accounting experience preferred.BR     - Experience with PeopleSoft modules, including GL and AR/BIL desirable.BR     - Strong capabilities in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Access.BR     - Experience with financial systems and general ledger.BR     - Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
