Description: The primary purpose of this position is to prepare and maintain the financial accounting records for two companies. This position is responsible for performing the A/P, A/R, cash, and billing functions as well as performing the monthly investment reconciliations and analyzing the companies equity holdings in accordance with FAS 115 to ensure there are no impairment losses. This position will also be responsible for managing the month-end close process and providing a completed financial package to the Assistant Controller for review within a tight deadline. This will include preparing monthly journal entries and supporting schedules, and updating the balance sheets, income statements, statements of equity and cash flow statements for the above insurance companies. This position will assist in the preparation of the yearly budget by providing detailed analyses of certain expense line items to help project future expenses. This position will also assist in the annual audit with the companies independent auditors. Responsibilities regarding the audit will include providing supporting schedules and key variance explanations to the independent auditors and maintaining a
yearly audit binder for future reference. This position will also be in charge of special projects as directed by the Assistant Controller and VP of Finance.

Candidates qualifying for this position will have similar experience along with the skills and abilities to perform the duties mentioned. Any relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus.
